About the Series
Death Remedy, book one of the Akman’s Angels Trilogy, was shortlisted for the Andromeda Award in 2024.
Akman’s Angels is an adult science fiction trilogy by S.T. Seitz that explores what happens to a nation—and to the people who loved it—after catastrophic defeat.
Set on a far-future Earth shaped by centuries of global war, the series takes place primarily in Kraji, a once-proud nation now living under foreign occupation. At the center of the story are the Angels—genetically engineered warriors with wings created generations earlier to defend their people. When the Angels refused to fight during Kraji’s final battle, their decision reshaped the fate of an entire country.
Thirteen years later, the consequences still ripple through every level of society.
The trilogy follows two people struggling to survive in the aftermath:
–Remedy Ivanov, daughter of Kraji’s most revered war hero, honored as a sacred figure while quietly blamed for the nation’s fall.
–Nith, a winged super-soldier Angel living in disgrace and bondage after his kind abandoned the battlefield.
Neither seeks to change the world. But when their lives collide, the bond they form threatens the fragile systems keeping their conquered nation under control.
Across the trilogy, in a country ruled by division and the weight of its ancestors, the characters must decide who they are meant to become when fate, tradition, and the ghosts of the past demand they be something else.
